And yes i did check to make sure it was not just the lthe 4 wheel drive light. I put it in high and flicked the switch to 4 and punched the gas and the front tires would not spin. Right now the only things that work on my dash are the clock, hour meter, fuel gauge and all the warning lights. I dont got a speedo or my trip meters and i cant put it in 4 wheele drive. Electrical crap.

Do you have an 03 or 02 P650. I beleive there might be something with the clutch belt switch on the 03 after 100 hours of use this is a thought not sure. The next question, do you still have waranty?

Warenty is done and i have a 2002 model. I had my electronic dash off and then when i hooked it back up there was a spark. I found out i blew the main fuse. I put a new 30 amp fuse in jsut like i was suppose to and then i lost my 4 wheel drive and my speedo. I dont even know if the guy who works on my quad will figure this one out. If that dash is broken will that keep it from going into 4 wheel drive. Thanx for replying

I dunno for sure, all i know is my 650 was the fastest one in my area and now i cant put it in 4 by4 and i lost my speedo and i lost about 10% of my power. There are quad races hear next saturday and i have to get my quad back to how it was and fast. I lost so much power now that i can barly wheelie my 650 sitting down. I just about have to put a knee on the seat and pull to wheelie it. Is there something electrical that gives the engine power. I dont know much about electrical stuff. But i know in a car there are electrical stuff that keep the enigine running. But anyways thanxs alot alltoys.

Scrobe,

The speed sensor sends a signal to the cdi and controls the 4wd actuator. If you not getting any measure on your speedo then I would say that something is messed up there. It will never go into 4wd without it. Check the other fuses again and make sure everything is plugged in properly from where you had the dash off.

Apparently there is circuitry in the display that is necessary for some systems to work; you may have fried something when you shorted it.

There is a 10 amp fuse that supplies the actuator box under the seat (the other black box, a little smaller than the CDI). Make sure that fuse isn't blown. If it's not, you're going to need a service manual and an electrical multi-meter.
