why synthetic?

why synthetic?
It doesn't thicken up when cold as much, so it flows better and prevents accelerated engine wear that occurs at startup. Doesn't get as thin when hot.
It doesn't break down at hot spots and form varnish, helping guides and bearings last longer.
Higher film strength helps keep parts from wearing as fast even when hot.
A real company did a real test on synthetic oil. They found that group of Taxis with synthetic oil changed at 10,000 miles all their life had less engine wear than another group of the same taxis (same car, same mileage, the same city) that had their oil changed at 3000 miles with conventional oil. I don't have proof of this, but heard it from a few different sources.
That is not to say that you should change synthetic less often, just that synthetic drastically reduces wear.
BTW, consumer reports tested slick 50 on some identical cars. They also used some of the same cars without slick 50. They drained the oil and drove them down the road w/o oil. They all seized in approximately the same place.

why synthetic?
I run what I feel is the absolute best for our engines, Amsoil fully synthetic 0w-40 4-stroke Atv oil. No I'm not a dealer, after much research I've determined this is one of the best choices out there. Another good oil is the mobil 1 synth 10w-40.... Either way if you plan on keeping your quad a while, use synthetics. Your engine will last longer and remain totally clean, no sludgy buildup like the dino crap leaves!
