Had one of those great 200 dollar service jobs done ,now i got a boat anchor. It runs good up to about 30 then it starts to spit ,sputter ,cough, gag. It still has the (condensation )problem as the dealer puts it.CHanged the oil 5 times and it still gets milky. I was reading some of the post last night and came across the snorkle needs to be through the ruber flap, post .So i take a look IT AINT THROUGH it ,it is somewhere under it.Fixed that ,checked the plugs ,black as coal, cleaned them.Looked at the belt, yep it has one and that is the limit as to what i know how to do .But it now runs 65 instead of spitting and gagging to get to 43.

Nyroc i went to your fix it page .It was a real big help, but i am not real sure as to where the black spring and red spring everyone is talking about go and didnt feel like pressing my luck on tring to tighten the belt up.With everything off i can almost touch the 2 sides of the belt together ,the clutch is spooled all the way out so the belt is touching the shaft . I know the clutch draws in some at start up and further in to take off and so on .The belt looked to be in good shape ,only have 458 miles on it. There is some free play at the clutch . THat is where you take the shims out right? Am i on the right track with this thinking

Look at the tech tips titled Driven and Drive Spring Faq should help you clear things up. You will get less pulley wear and longer belt life if you look into it and do the belt adjustment.
