Alltoys: as if anyone else would date you! Sorry couldn't resist. I remember fondly when all it took was a 1/2" wrench to take care of your timing, and a philips screwdriver to set the advance. On the other hand, I hate tuning carbs.

Factorywrench,

I was one of the first ten people to try the new ignition (c.d.i] and can tell you that this modulator does not even come close to the overall power and speed gains from you know who's ignition when ready. Save your money for a few more months and get the real thing in my opinion

Thanks, just when I was getting used to thinking I would just have to wait for the cdi and temporary get a fix for my power addiction by installing the module. Now the need for speed is even greater, gimme, gimme, gimme; come on Don hurry up with the goods. Seriously, did you have a chance to compare against another 650. What kind of power gains are we lookin at (bottom, mid and top speeds)? Thanks for any input you can give.

Thank's for the advise Alltoys, I'm not going to have the key in long enough for it to shear hopefully ,it may never but this is just to get me by until the igniter comes out...coolinthewoods, I think the 650 key will fit the v-force also, you can call Mike and ask him, I'm sure he will make you one........

Heck ya, that's what I'm saying... Someone put up some instructions on how we can make our own. That would save us all some money and would be beneficial for the whole community.

djnemesis@clanradium.com

If anyone is up to posting instructions on how to do it, if they have the know how.

factorywrench,

Thanks for repling, can't wait for a production unit. What kind of problem did you experience that caused them to fail and do you think it is something they can easily fix so as not to be a future issue?

Thanks

Steve

Went out with some co-workers after work tonight to drink a couple beers and hang out. We ended up playing texas hold-em for a couple hours and I was the big winner for the night. Out of 8 of us, 1 was up $4, one was up $11, and I cleared about $80 counting buying back my $15 in chips. Anway, come the a.m. I'm finally ordering the driven spring, Penland's key, and rejetting my carbs to cure my lean-nes. And I didn't have to buy a single beer. My lottery tickets continue to be worthless, but still a pretty good night.

the prarie offers such a powerplant, it is luring mechanics to it, lol. it seems anyone who plays with timing and so on, go right to the prarie, and i dont blame them. alot of power is hidden there.
heres the problem( for me anyway, lol) i have a grizzly. i cant seem to find anyone who is playing with the cdi on the grizzly. we all know, all big bore quads a detuned to hold back the power from us. i beleave there is alot of power being hidden from me in the grizzly.
i also agree with alltoys 100% on this issue. people hand 3 wheelers, or large quads to 10 year olds, and are shocked when they crash. sueing is not the answer. common sence is!!!
if anyone knows where, or who, might have played with the 660, let me know, as i do appreciate it.
i am in yamaha forums alot, and have not heard of this from anyone there yet. maybe the race is on in all shops to hook up the prarie first, lol!
thanks guys, and congratz on being able to add even more power to a v twin!!!

Comparing apples to apples, I don't think you'll be able to mod the Grizz as we 650 owners can mod ours. Your looking at a 650 twin cylinder vs. a 660 single. The advantage to the V-twin is the added power it produces (2 smaller cylinders to the grizzs 1) and thus was detuned to bring the beast down to earth. I'd imagine that the timing is as retarded on the grizz as the 650 (if at all) and would think the only means of getting more out of it would be to bore it out and installing racing engine parts.
