Default Just bought a 700 KFX!

Hi everyone,
Just thought I would post a quick message to introduce myself. Yesterday I brought home a orange Kawasaki KFX700... and I'm looking forward to learning about mods & just general info here on this board. I rode it for probably 4 hours yesterday, and I must say...... it's a blast! I keep hearing about the dual exhaust option for it..... has anyone bought one yet? If so..... how'd it perform? SOUND?

Take it easy!
Russ

Congrats ..... I think you have bought a fine quad.

Tell us a little about yourself ....What type of ridding do you do most ?
Your age ? What kind of ATV have you had before? etc

There are serveral sets of duals available now .... I am using HMF's with "hunter" baffles.
( was 115 db without baffles .... supposed to be 90 db with baffles.)

I love that sound

Buy the way ..... the Green ones are faster than the Orange ones

I probably ride 50% wooded trails - everything from shallow creek bottoms to hilly pastures. The other 50% is on a 110 acre apple orchard w/ grassy trails that curve and wind through the property - great for going fast! Before this bike, I had an '03 Rancher 4x4. Brand new to the sport/hobby! So this is a period of adjustment for me... getting to know the way a 2wd sport handles, accelerates, etc. It's a blast so far! I'm 24... and ride with a group of buddies in their late 20s/30s who are far worse 4-wheeler fanatics than me....

Vforcer: You don't happen to have any sound files of your Dual exhaust 700 by chance? I'd LOVE to hear how it sounds. With and without baffles. Also..... did it literally bolt right up, or was it somewhat challenging? (I'll probably take the plunge soon...just want to make sure it's what I want). Even pictures would be great!

BTW, I almost bought the green one... but this orange matches my '72 Chevy shortbed pretty darn close!

You are going to love this quad .... the type of riding you are doing, is what it does the absolute best at.

Sorry ... don't have any sound files .... It was a direct bolt on replacement. Fit perfect. All bolts fell into place with
out any "adjustment".

I was getting lots of attention yesterday, as soon as I brought it home. But that temporarily subsided when two of my other buddies must've caught "the fever" from me - and decided to go buy an '03 Prairie 650... and '03 Honda Rincon 650 later that evening - to add to their ever-growing stable (Including a Raptor 660, Rancher, Rubicon, Grizzly 660, Polaris Xplorer, 400ex & a couple of 90s.... told ya in a previous post they are fanatics!) However, after all the riding was over with.... and the sun went down.... the V-Force still left everyone in awe "That's scary fast..." has to be the coolest comment I heard...over and over again... I love it!

I'll probably end up ordering the dual exhaust very very soon. Other question is.... I notice different fuel jets are required for the carbs. Big PITA or not? I'm definitely the definition of "newbie" when it comes to tinkering with one of these. I also don't want to fudge up my extended warranty TOO bad.

The jet changes are required. If you encrease the air flow ..... with out increasing the fuel flow ... it will be running
lean..... with all those problems. Besides ..... horse power comes from burning fuel. This quad loves
more fuel. If you think it is strong now ..... wait till you add duals/jets/air box mods !!

OK we have these violations: first you mentioned that you have a hard time waiting for raptors, (that's an unfriendly violation) then you are looking to make yours even faster (this means you don't want friends and this is part of the evil violations) then you mention to take it easy, well I don't know who does on this fourm, it also apears your icon is in violation and blasting is a speeding violation... I can't help with the other violations LOL

enjoy
