Get a V Force or wait on the 700 Prairie?
#1
Well, I was talking with our Kawi dealer about getting a V Force but as I told them I like the 650 Prairie with 4x4 and all so then he told me to just wait then,,, the Prairie will be a 700 soon. They didn't give me an exact release time but they said that the new Prairie's are gonna be 700's! So what would you do,,, get the V Force or wait for the 700 Prairie?

They are making it a 700, I've been told this by two Kawi dealers and alltoys has been told the same by someone he knows in Kaw! I know they will not change to the a arm suspention in front like the 700 but that would be nice. The Kawi dealer said he wasn't informed as to how many other changes are to be made but then again he said he shouldn't be telling me about the 700 thing either because when ever the manufactures put out a new model that has been improved over the existing model machine they tell the dealers to dump what they have so they don't get stuck with it! I know this is true also because when I worked for Yamaha they informed us to dump all the Grizz's as fast as we could before they released the new 660 Grizz! They also told us to dump some of the dirt and street bikes at the same time.

I just don't understand why they would put a 700 motor on the same machine they put a 650 motor on and then detuned????? Even detuned the 650 is bad a$$!!!

personaly I would rether have the p650 (with the new cdi) then a stock p700. Think about it, IF they came out wth a p700 it wouldent have "that" much more power than the p650 then just slap the cdi on the p650 and the p700 wouldent tuch you. If you could get a cdi for the p700 it would one bad atv but how long do you think it will take them to make one? thay havent even got the 650,s cdi working yet.

Makes sense to me that they would want a 700 4x4 to compete with Polaris and the Grizzly. The 650 may remain as is and the 700 could come out as a new model with IRS. That would be direct competition for the others. Think about Polaris with a 500, 600 and 700. Yamaha has the 400, 450 and 660. A Kawasaki 700 with IRS and full-feature equipment would be another niche in the market for them.

Well Kawi would be looking to make the prarie better and use the less amount of money the same time. So instead of making 2 different engines for 2 quads, they could make 1 engine for both quads with a little adjustments for the prarie and make it faster. Seems like a real big business oppurtonity to me. Just my .02 cents.

Most likely it has to do with $$$$$. It is cheaper to build one motor instead of two motors with different internal parts. Less parts to manufacture.

This is just a rumor, so don't blame me if its not true but I was told by a kawi employee, that the p700 would be a 2005 model and would come out mid year 2004. They said that the 2004 prairie would be basically unchaged from 03.. Then there would be two 2005 Praire 700 models introduced mid year.
One be just like the current 650 and the other would be a priaire 700 sport. On the sport racks would be optional and the suspension would be vastly upgraded, and it would have different rims and tires.
