150cc Hammerhead go kart
#1
Hello all,
i bought a hammerhead go kart while i was in little rock about 6 months ago for the little women (she didnt want a 4 wheeler). I brought it home and it was working fine. Then one day i had it out and was driving it and the exhaust came off of the motor i tried to limp it back to the house and it died on me. Ive replaced the nuts holding the exhaust manifold in to the motor but i cant get it to fire at all i messed with the ignition and thought i found a bad connection because it would start then it would die again so i direct wired the ignition and still i cant get it to fire for crap. im not a mechanic by no means but i dont have enough money to takeit to the shop. Could anyone on here tell me what i need to do to troubleshoot this thing

well i hope it didn't warp an exhaust valve. so, you have spark? you've pulled the spark plug and grounded it to the jug/cylinder/head with the coil wire on and cranked it and saw spark? exactly which part/wire/color wire did you "direct wire"? to me, ignition is a generic term for the key/solenoid/battery/starter/firing circuit. we'll get you fixed up, we just need some more specific information.

please explain which wires you direct wired because you may have tied in a ground wire that is killing your spark. can you post any pics? you'll eventually an ohm meter/voltmeter to do some testing.
