Default Eton Viper Starter Relay

Is there a way to test the starter relay on my son's eton viper 90r?

make sure your battery if fully charged. it should crank through the starter button. if it rattles/chatters, then it may be going out. the plates inside come together to make contact to send voltage to the starter. if you take a screwdriver and touch both solenoid posts together, you're jumping the solenoid and it'll crank. that's what happens inside of the solenoid, except that it's supposed to do it. that's how i test them. AND while cranking, i use my ohm meter/voltmeter and read the voltage on the battery while cranking to see if the draw is too much and i got a cell trying to die or too much voltage draw which would indicate a bad battery or a dragging starter.

The stock relays go out all the time. All it takes is alittle moisture in it and they rust. If use a cheap sealed relay from autozone, duralast part number 19208. You have to bypass the harness but in the long run its worth it. Not only are they sealed, they are much cheaper and available. I paid $9 versus $30 for the OEM.
