Tao110 quad dies suddenly just clicks(Help)
#1
Hi I am new to this forum and was hoping someone could shed some light on my problem: I changed out the carb. and replaced the Battery (it had been sitting 4 months) and it fired right up, good as new or so I thought...My daughter rode it for about 15 minutes and it justed stopped.
Plenty of gas. And would not restart it just clicks at the solenoid, 12v at battery, 12v at the solenoid tried jumping with a screwdriver
and nothining happens just clicks, ofcoarse the red handlebar switch is in the correct postion, the brake light works when applied separtely, (hand and foot) even tried to bypass them and the saftey cap for the kill switch is still on and not dirty. It seems like there is only about 9.70 volts at the starter it gets very warm afer several tries. So I pulled it out and applied 12V to it and it does not spin, so it must be bad! But my question is why would that make the Tao shut off on my daughter??? It doesnt need the starter to run all the time does it?
I am baffled am I missing something? simple device and I dont get it!
Ofcoarse all wires seem to be in the right shape and not disconnected.
Also no Spark thats pretty important, all the sudden.
ran like a champ for a couple of years until this.

Inline fuse is goodAnd does not seem anything is going to ground although I could be wrong

Where's Lynn?
A new starter should be here on Monday so I'll see then but hate to keep throwing $$$$ at a problem.
Any ideas I could try in the mean time
