thanks for all the answers the old joining of the red and orange wire did the trick

 

next question is where is the best place to take power from to run 2 led lights ?

 

without the key switch, you would have to go off on of those jumped wires and ground, with a switch, or straight off the battery.

 

Ok, needing some help, hope i can tag in.... so once you join the red and orange what do i do with BW & BY? the 2 black cables.....

i know the bike runs because i take the ignition of the other lt80 we have... this is time consuming and pintoes. hoping to wire a toggle switch but have no idea what to do.... i tried tonight to no avail.... Cheers for the tips....

 

What controls are on the bike and what is the toggle gonna replace,ignition switch?

 

Thanks LT G, yes replacing ignition... School holidays and wanted to get it all going for the kids. Have tried wreckers in WA and none have them in stock and Suzuki didn't either.

Just a cheap 12V 30 amp 2 way toggle with 3 prongs Earth, Supply & forgotten the other? will check tonight...

 

If just replacing ignition switch tie the red and orange together leave the BW and BY separated and try starting it should try to start with the handlebar switch on run and parking brake too. If The BW and BY are together its grounding the system keeping it from starting. The toggle ain't necessary for the ignition switch unless u want it. It would be if u had lights or power consuming options on the bike, so if u want the toggle put it between the red and orange but the bike still be turned off by the run switch on the handlebar, I forget to turn the key off all the time but it doesn't run the battery down b/c no power consuming options on bike.
