Default lt80 tires

Has anyone tried running 10.5" or 11" tires on the rear of an LT80? My son has his heart set on getting some 11" wide rear tires. I didn't know how much it will effect the power and all of his LT. I've seen 9" tires on them, and they seem to do ok. any thoughts?

The wider the tire, the quicker your going to break the aluminum cases!
What type of riding does your son do?

ostly woods riding, with some jumping, flat tracking too. I have an SP500 with really wide Vampires on it, and he really likes the wide tire look. I.ve tried to talk him out of it, but if it will handle them ok, I thought I might let him do it. I believe it's better for him to spend some of his allowance on tires, rather than on pokemon cards.

The widest I'd put on is the 9.5 turf tamers.
Have fun

For racing, the absolute must is the 16x6.5x8 NANKANG tire. Available from any parts unlimited dealer. 25$-30$ a tire.

I'm dragging up an old post here, but I have a question for LT80. I just bought some Nankang 16X6.5X8 tires. The model is the N700. They cost $30 apiece plus $17 for total shipping, which seems like a good enough deal. Is this the right tire? Thanks,
Mike

What do I use for the fronts? Or can I use those up front too?

Some do use them up front.
I use the stock fronts cuz they are soft, which helps in the suspension department.
