I mech want 215 for parts and labor and 85 to bore my sons LT 80 For that price cant I get him alittle extra power somewhere else. They told me the reason I couldnt get it to start was it only had 35lbs of compression. I looked up the parts and the come up to like 79.95

IF any of you do motor work LT80 or anyone who can help me email me with a price

 

sounds pretty high. your about right with the price of parts it should have at least 140 comp lt 80 is the man to talk to im waiting for him to build me a motor .but he's a hard guy to get a hold of around hear 40.00 for the bore job .if you have any mech back ground you can take the top end off and just take it to a machine shop for boring stay with a suz piston and rings as weisco doesnt hold up.

 

215$ is way out there!...Your 79$ is a good price.
You can PM me and I'll explain what I do for a LT.
I wont be accepting any motors for about 3 more weeks tho.

Wait the 3 weeks and send your motor to Jack. I had 2 done and they both run very strong and the set up was perfect.

Hi I'm looking to make my kids '88 lt 80 run much stronger than the stock version that it is now,the only thing that I've changed so far is put a DG Racing pipe on.Any suggestions as to the next steps I can take?Another question is... is there a way to take that airbox system off and go with an aftermarket system??That's a pain to go through all that just to change or maintain an aircleaner!
