Default I need help with my LT80

My sons LT80 runs fine when he's crusing around at about 0 to half throtle. but when he gets on the gas 1/2 to full throtle for more than a few minutes the quad dies out it will only run at idle when you give it gas it bogs and wants to die until you let off the gas and it will idle. anyone know whats going on here? Then I shut it off and let it sit for a few minutes and when I start it up it runs fine until he gets on the throtle for a while. its like its running out of gas. mabey the floats are stuck?

Your on the right track I think.
Clean the carb. Pay special attention to remove the seat that the needle sits in. Sounds like thats where it is limiting fuel.
If thats not is check the fuel flow from the petcock (suck on the vacumm line).
let us know

I sucked on that hose and nothing. Also the petkock only lets gs out in one position. thats if you turn it towards the front tires, it says on is pointed down and reserve is pointed toward the rear tires. the on position does nothing and teh reserve position does nothing.

Ok, in run position (pointed down) thats when you try sucking on it. This may or may not be the problem. Put it in prime position and see if all is well. If it runs fine, then the petcock is the problem. Clean or replace the petcock.

I tried sucking on it in all positions. I pulled the petcock and tried to blow throught the long copper tube assuming this should be the on position and I couldent blow through it I can only blow through it when its in the prime postion. So if its the petcock hows the best way to clean it. also how much is a new one?

I would recommend you read through this previous petcock thread. It should cover about everything for you.

The vacume line is what goes from the carb to the petcock. I had a simular prob with my 86 LT250r, you need to very carefully clean out the carb with some carberator cleaner(from advance auto or checkers) and buy a new spark plug and you should be good. Also, if you are running low octane,the lowest there is, you might wanna think about a higher octane gas
