Default Gear lube.

I was changing the oil on the E-ton today, when I accidently pulled the transmission plug. Only when tranny fluid started to drain instead of old oil, did I realize what had I done. Duh. Any way, I replaced the tranny fluid with 80w Gear lube. Its the lube designed to go in the gear box of an outboard motor. Will this hurt, or is this a acceptable substitue? If its gonna hurt the tranny, yall let me know so I can drain that stuff and replace it with spec fluid. Thanx yall.

Some would say the best transmission oil is what the maker of the mini recommends. Many of us are using 80w oil with NO problems. We use 80W oil in our Pred-90 and it works great. Due to our trail riding, we change our oil twice a year. Spring and Fall. Yes, 80W oil should work great for our E-Ton as well.
