LT80 starter problems

Confusedbuyer Yeah I actually live about 30mins from Pe Ell. Not much riding there anymore(WHOREHAUSER shut it down to motorized access) When I was a kid we could ride legally from I-5 all the way to the coast if you knew the right trails and logging roads , of course you can't ride on beaches in washington anymore.(HOPEFULLY MY PARENTS WON'T READ THIS, EVEN THOUGH I AM 30 NOW, THEY'D FREAK OUT IF THEY KNEW ACTUALLY HOW FAR AWAY FROM HOME WE USE TO RIDE)

quadduck,
That's funny, I use to hunt near Pe Ell for a few years. Camped up there for about a week each hunting season. My other buddy has hunted there many many many years.
Come on over to the "Where to Ride" section.
Look for "Puget Sound Area Riders".
Lots of real good folks to ride with. From Capitol Forest, to Tahuya, to Oregon Dunes, to way up North, to anywhere we can go.
Looking to go ride some trails South of Randle Near Blue Lake sometime soon.

okay guys you seem to know the area and i didn't want to confuse you (i'm the confused one). my aunt actually lived in Doty, which is on the same Highway to Pe Ell (SR20??). just after Dryad (Rainbow State park), and before Pe Ell. you may have hunted in her yard, cuz she never posted no-hunting... she never liked the deer eating all her roses and flowers. she always left for Palm Springs in October, returned in April.

I still hunt the area its one of the few left that alows you past the gates during hunting seaon and doty and dryad are just other entrances besides PeEll. They all lead to the same pretty country just don't try to hunt using a quad, whorehauser will escort you out as I found out the hard way.

back to the starter....lol...
i have bypassed the relay and the lt80 does start....and have replaced the relay once already....maybe again????if so, what would burn out a relay so quickly???
the handlebar switch is fine....battery terminals cleaned and tightened with new battery, brake safety switch is working fine....fuse okay
everything indicates that the thing should start, except all i get is that annoying click when i hit the starter button....
if it was a horse, i would shoot it!!!

I wonder if you got a dud solenoid? if you're getting it to start after bypassing the solenoid... I can't see what else it coul be. Are the wires okay, no frays or breaks? can you borrow a solenoid from someone else, just to check and make sure? or, try your solenoid on their unit?or get dealer to check solenoid for function?
