Default Moving up a size!!!

My son is turning 6 and has been riding his Lt80 for 3 yrs. He want the sportsman 90 made by Polaris(eton). I was thinking about getting him one and giving the Lt 80 to his little brother(4). My question is Do you think he is even going to see any diff in power? He has had full throttle for 2 years now. The only other small quads I see are 180s and I dont know if that is too much. He understands how to work his throttle and brakes. The 180s and made by alpha sports and Im not too sure about these off the way brands.

Even if you dont know of these brands please give alittle input on the size..
I thought about buying the 105 kit for the 6 yr old. I found another Lt80 for 300 that needs a new cylinder and piston.

Thanks
Daniel

The lt 80 has way more power than the polaris 90, the 90's aren't actually a 90cc, I do not recall the actuall but I think it is around 82-84cc. The lt 80 is also around 82cc's stock. Since you already own one I suggest you give him some performance upgrades and keep the 80. Plus I would buy the other 80 and fix it up. This forum is full of mods for the lt 80, Look up lt80(Jack) on the forums he is the man when it comes to yhe lt.

The polaris is 89cc...i think the eton is 83cc. you might want to double check the eton.

The polaris has a lot of *****. Rememeber each of these 90's can be modded up to run with the bigger quads...no doubt

what kind of quad does he want? a sport or a utility. if he's looking at the sports I would look into the 05' polaris predator 90cc it has reverse for 05' as does the sportsman 90cc. as for price I have been looking into either the eton 90, predator 90, and the off brand 110cc's like the lightning 110. it's a four stroke semi auto with reverse and working headlight, taillight. you can do a search on ebay for 110cc and find a bunch of them, most of them are the same quad with different names which all look like the yamaha raptor. you can get a 110 lightning for around $1300 with free shipping and a 6 month warranty. people say well 6mo. isn't alot of time for a warranty but I just bought two polaris 700 EFI's and even at $7300 each they only came with a 6mo. warranty. I think if you went from an 80cc to a 90cc you wouln't be buying yourself much time, your son will probably outgrow the 90cc as he did the 80cc but if you jumped to the 110 you could limit the throttle till he gets older and it also gives him something to grow into. well thats just my opinion but hope it gives you something to think about. let us know what you decide and good luck.

Don't take this wrong, but if he's just turning 6 he should have a few more years on the LT. Our LT will run with 300 4x4 Hondas all day long in the woods. Ours also has a top speed of somwhere around 45+. Do you really think a 6 year old needs more than that? You have a great amount of potenial in that LT that you havn't even tapped into yet. My oldest son has switched from our LT to a 300EX earlier this year. The biggest reason for his switch was his height. (he's around 5feet tall) Its just my opinion, but I think its a waste of money to give up on the lt and go to something else when the something else really won't perform noticely better. And remeber, hes not even 6 yet!!

I'd buy a cheap mini and mod the heck out of it it. You'll have more machine for the money in the long run.
