Yeah, but stiffening up the front end would raise it would it not? That would in turn raise the center of gravity.. sort of counter productive wouldn't you say? Is there any adjustability in the a-arm mounts that could allow you to adjust on the angle a bit? Longer threaded rod ends perhaps?\

Are you running some sort of torsion bar setup you see on the bigger flat trackers?

Dragginbutt:

Yes it raised it, but only slightly. The minimal amount it raised the ATV is by far and away offset by the the front end being 11" wider. We have this LT sitting pretty low. Were running a shorter tire (snow hawgs) instead of the stock ones which also lowers it. This thing sticks like a go-cart on the track. No there's no adjustments on the front end other than toe-in/toe-out on the tie rods. It sure would be nice if someone would make a kit consisting of wider a-arms and different shocks for the LT. Currently were not running a torsion bar or sway bar. To my knowledge, nobody currently makes one for the LT. I'd like to make and install one before next season. I know of several people that have made their own.

Hey Rudedog. You may already know this but Midwest Mini make some shocks for the front that allow 5" of travel. I don't know how good they are but they have to be better than stock. They are only like 150.00 for the pair.

Yes, I've seen their kit. The shocks their selling sure sound and look exacly like the Kasea shocks I installed on out LT.
Same exact colors, same "5 position pre-load adjusters". I'd venture to say their one in the same as I doubt Midwest
Mini's is paying to have their "own shocks" manufactured (costly).

Who did you get these shocks from? Or do you have an Kasea that you took them off of?

I got the shocks from a friend. He pulled them off his brand new Kasea and replaced them with Elka shocks.

How did it improve on the ride and bottoming out? Would it be worth the money? My son doesn't get much air--yet but might in the future.

That would be really hard to answer as my LT is different than most due to the front end being 5-1/2" wider per side (11" wider overall). I never tried the shocks on a "stock" front end, a front end with "only" wheel spacers, or a front end with just the James Lucky (JL) extension kit. We had both the JL kit and 2-1/2" spacers on our LT when I got the shocks and installed them. In "our case", I think by us adding so much width & weight past the original lower shock mount (Spindle, extension bracket, 2-1/2" wheel spacer and tire/wheel) our front end now has too much leverage, and so tends to compress the front shocks to easily. I think we need stiffer coil springs, possibly a sway bar might help? As I noted before, for our application (TT racing) I think were okay, but I wouldn't recogmend our wide setup for any other application. Most will be just fine with the JL kit "or" wheel spacers (not both). Remember if you bolt on the shocks and your front end is too high you can make brackets for your shock mounts that will lower the front end. Look at or ask a TT racer about lowering brackets. There made for lots of other ATV's, but I don't believe their made for LT's. I'll try to find some time to experiment with our LT to remove the 2-1/2" wheel spacers and see how the front end feels then and report back.......

Cool, thanks. We just have the wheel spacers on the front. I got those from MidwestMini as well.
