Default wider track on lt80

Is it possible the turn the rims around on an lt80 to give it a wider track/ more stability?

Has anyone tried the wide track kit from mid west mini?

Yes you can,i did this on the front and the back.On the front i also made some metal brackets to extend it by 3 1/2 ".And in the back i had some 3 1/2" spacers made.It made a huge difference in handling.

Thanks ced - did just flipping the rims make a big difference?

Also, just tried it but the air valve catches the brake actuator - how do you get around this?

This is a pretty common trick on all atvs. You just pull out the existing valvestem and turn it upside down so it is facing inside the wheel just to plug up the hole.Drill a new hole on the outside of the rim once it is flipped over and install a valvestem the normal way.

The easiest way, but not the way I chose for my sons 80, is to buy wheel extensions that are bolt on. They simply screw on over the wheel studs and give you 2.5 inches on each side. ebay has them for about 50.00 bucks.

James Lucky has a kit that widens the front end. They also have a wheel kit with Turf Tamers on wider rims that widens up the back end quite a bit.

Decided to go for the screw in spacers. Went for 3" overall (1.5" each side) as thought 5" overall might look a little too much and the kids use the bikes on our home quad trach which has bumps and hollows and the reduced width will be better for the stock axles.
