Eton 90 vs. Suzuki 80
#1
We are going out next weekend to get rid of the rip off Raptor 50. We are stuck between these two quads. We dont want to make another mistake again. My son needs a quad that can go in sand and up some dunes. In your opinion which quad will serve our needs best??

Both should work well.
You will find that both need motor work to climb anything but the smaller hills.
With that being said, the LT's motor can be modded for less than the others.
A good dealer that can help with parts and service should be a consideration also.
Have fun at the dunes.

I'm not familiar witht he E-ton 90, but my son's LT80 has plenty of power for him and he is eight years old. Hetrick racing makes some very powerful hop up kits for the LT also if that is a route you'd like to take http://www.hetrickracing.com/lt80.htm A lot of people like the Kasea Skyhawk 90 if you would like to check it out. http://www.kasea.com/usa/skyhawk/skyhawk90.htm It is definitely a hard choice. I went with the proven LT 80 and have not been disappointed so far. A couple of things lacking is nerf bars to catch little feet and it is a narrow quad. Good luck deciding.

My son has the Eton 90 and my friends sons have Lt80's. We were riding and doing our own like testing session and everyone, including my buddy and his kids voted for the Eton. Better suspension and handling were the biggest reasons plus the Eton beat it in EVERY race while we switched riders every which way. It was enlightening.
My .02 cents.......... and yes, we own an Eton . Not brand bashing. The LT 80 have been great quads for him also.

The off brands definitely are coming a long way. I guess I was a little hesitant due to fear of longevity. I've heard someone on here mention that was what was feared about Japanese products when they first were imported in the US and you know how dominant they have become. After owning the LT 80 a couple of years and seeing some of the good luck others are having I would probably be more inclined to try out the newer minis. It is definitely a tough decision. Good luck!

I've got two e-ton 90 vipers each with nearly 300 miles on them! So far regular maint. and a few loose bolts tightened and the chains are always stretching. But with that being said...these two quads have been beaten on the trail...they have been in water to the headlights, over granite jeep trails bashing along for a week!...we ride in a canal that is sand and mud!...badlands, and riverbottom. They even run pretty good in snow as long as it's not more then 4 inches deep! My riding buddy has two kids on 80 raptors...no comparison! The e-tons run way better, he's been through 20 plugs on his machines, and regrets paying more for the yamaha to get less of a machine. No headlights (yes it was a problem because their dad got stuck and we couldn't get him out till dark!)...rough ride...no floorboards...no kickstart on yamaha..(also a problem on two occasions). The auto tranny has been great..and now vipers have reverse! I might just be lucky with e-ton...but they have been really good for us!
