Hey Rudedog,
Thanks for the info. LT80 said you knew how to get in touch with him for a question I have. Do you have an email address or phone number? If so, please email it to bmiliate@***.net.
Thanks,
Brian

Yes, I'll see you at the banquet!
I want to be there for the meeting also. I'm going to biatch about the shifter Cobra and how it will ruin all mini racing for the others ,at least in what should be an "automatic class".

Back when my son rode an LT80, I also put a DG pipe on, and like the rest of you,the aluminum can came loose very soon, rivets don't hold, I ended up drilling the holes in the pipe and tapping to a 1/4 - 20 thread and bolting them on with a roundhead screw and lock washer, never came loose again. The sound wasn't too bad, just had to pull that tiny little silencer and repack on a regular basis, it tended to get burnt and oil soaked a lot, fresh packing is cheap, and keeps it sounding like a little dirtbike, my boy loved it. My motor was .020 over and modded air intake with milled reed box and rejetted to match, so it was fairly peppy for a little quad, nothing like the race kits and engine work that is available out there, but enough to keep a little rider happy on the trails and hills. The clutch work seems to be the first and best mod, it would keep the engine revving and in the power band, making hill climbs very easy.

I don't intend to put anyone down, especially LT80. But Our LT runs soooo much better with our FMF on it than it does with the stocker. I tried both with the setup we have now, and the stocker will not rev nearly as quick as the FMF. I thought the pipe might be stopped up, but I sure couldn't find anything restricting the airflow. (I also could blow through it easly) Could it be that my porting and engine work works best with the FMF? Probably so. I'll probably get bashed for all this, but There are soo many diferent things that can effect the performance of an engine. No 2 engines will respond the same way to the same thing. I listened to everone on here that said to forget the FMF, and had big plans for selling ours. But I didn't need a stop watch to see the difference between the 2. I'm not saying that you shouldn't listen to these guys, they do know their stuff on these, but not everthing is the same from 1 to another. If ya got it, you ought to try it.
