Default redcat fx150 valve adjustment

I was wondering if anyone had the valve clearance on a fx150. I was going to adjust my friends valves on his machine but not sure of the clearance. Is it around .008?

I have been trying to get valve specs for my wifes yamoto 150 for over 8mos. To the best of my ability I dont think they exist. Set the yamoto 150 at .004-.005 cold. Seems ok to me.

The manual for an XR100 said (I think) .002 cold, I think this was the smallest guage I had, it kinda wrinkled when I muscled it in there too hard. Figured it must be close to this, btw one of my valves was way too tight. I thought the valves got looser as the engine wore, or is it the reverse? Ive never fooled with these little engines before now so I don't know.

Yerf dog has an online manual for this type engine, it is large like 5mb so I haven't attempted to download it yet

Kell, the valves get tighter as they wear. As the faces wear and more of the stem pushes its way farther into the head. Make sense?

I got a hold of the manufacturer and they told me the fx150 and the rfx110 are .008. I checked and they are right on the money.

I followed kell's lead on this and looked up valve specs on my fleet of hondas. All honda 4-strokes from my 50 to my xl600 say, .002 cold. The ktm is .0047, and they specify stone cold. I am pretty sure I ended up setting my wifes quad at .004, not sure but will check it out. For a reference the average brunette hair is .003 thick, blonds .002, reds .004.

Thats fine. I'll stick with my info. I am not doubting you. You can set yours at what ever you feel is best. I was trying to give my input to help. My mojave is .008 also so i tend to believe the manufactorer. .002 and .004 is very tight.

Never intended to disagree with you. I have gotten pretty frustrated trying to get a spec from Yamoto, so I turned to what info I had available to me. I still think it is pretty rediculous that I cant get a valve spec from yamoto.
