LT80 hop ups for racing
I've done a lot of searching, now I need you opinions or experience.
My daughter is 10 y/o. She is just starting to race her '04 LT80. Had her first race on bone stock quad.
I don't want to spend a fortune, but enough to at least make her competitive so as her skills improve, she will have a chance to hang with the boys. Her only goal is to beat them
Here are some thinks I'm looking at doing, what do you all think: Any other ideas????
Need better shocks, not sure what to try? Don't have money for the big boys (Works, etc.)
Maybe new reeds, air filter ??????
Wheel spacers. As suggested by some, may just make make my own for now.
16x6.5x8 Nankang tires on rear, stock tires on front and the needed new sprockets and chain due to new tire size. Gonna go with these for sure
Gotta run, but I'll be back.

OK, gotcha.....Thanks for the info
It's like rough scrambles/MX. Not very long track, lots of turns, pretty tight corners. They change the track each race. Not very high speed, unless they do a lengthwise flat straightaway, which is about 200 ft. I think you need more quickness than top speed.
I found some NANKANG 16 x 6.5 x 8 for $26.99. Boy those seam like small tires for the rear, but then again I don't know much.........................
Just need to find rims now......
Is there a good or suggested brand? I've heard Douglas, so I think that's what I'll look for.

Thanks Hateful,
I've got those suggestions from others also.
I actually edited my original post to reflect my changes in thoughts
I just need to find somewhere to buy the new sprockets.
Looks like I may start with about 15/26 and see how that does.
Also sounds like "#40 chain from the tractor store or go-kart shop"(LT80 )
Thanks Guys, keep the suggestions flowing

I found the Nankang rears 16x6.5x8 for $26. Gonna put them on the stock rims for now
I'm trying to find the sprockets he recommended to try, 15/26 made for 428 chain.
Any ideas on where to find them, I have PM'd Jack to see if he knows.
Heading to the hardware store to come up with some spacers for front/rear, prolly gonna try about 2-1/2 inches per side.
Thanks again guys
