Question on rear drum brake
#2
On my '03 Pred-90, here's how it worked for me....
1 - Losen the left wheel bolts.
2 - Install auto jack under the rear hub assumble. Middle of hub.
3 - Remove the left rear tire.
4 - Remove the rubber cap - kinda twists and pulls off.
5 - Remove cotter pin in the axle's large nut.
6 - Unscre the large nut - standard thread direction.
7 - Pull the rear hub off.
8 - Slide the axle cylinder spacer tubes off.
9 - Using your hands, pull the brake drum off. If it's stuck, use a rubber hammer and lightly tap the outside of the drum. Don't tap too hard cause it may break the drum. If it still doesn't come off, spray WD-40 where the axle groves contacts with the brake drum. Let sit for 30 minutes, then try agian.
For a picture of where the axle groves sometimes rust to the brake drum, surf: - Press Here -
Hope this helps...

If you are planning on replacing the brake pads on your 2003+ Predator (or other 2001 Polaris mini), you may want to get slotted brake pads. For pictures, surf:

Many say the slotted pads are much better...
Hope this helps as well....
