I don't mind a little wrenchin' (put a turbo on a sled this winter) but I do want some durability and parts availability, will stick with the jap stuff. "Get what you pay for" usually holds true. Thanks guys

 

mrtwister4004, not sure about the 90 being sold as a 70 thing if you look at the head you will see 48cc in the casting I called Venom and they said that it is bored out to 70 and they do that for importing thru customs it is easier to get under 50cc thru customs than a larger cc, or atleast that is what they told me. just thought I would chime in on that. I am going to be making a rear "hoop /bumper" for mine withen the next couple days. and the e-brake thing I just use a "loosly ziped" zip tie to hold the brake lever down a little..

 

dhofroad i had to call venom today becuse rear carier brg failed on the 70 this could be due to my 16 yr old riding this thing hard i asked him again about the 70 being a 90 and he said the second batch they got is a 90 i have been looking on the eng to see if i could see the 50cc you talked about and can't see it .... i can tell you that this thing blows away our 50cc 2 stroke and keeps up with the 125s with 16 yr old riding it and my girls on the 125s ..any how it realy seems unimportant now since we both have one.. by the way how do you like yours so far ...we are happy with all 3 to this point.. changing the rear brg seems easy took it apart in ten minutes.. did you ever do anything with the exhauste?

 

mrtwister, no I hav'nt had a chance to do any moding to the quad yet been too busy workin, yea the motor thing is not a issue all I can say is if yours dose have more cc then damn it must get it prety good, I know mine is prety fast and has plenty of power (for that size quad) it pulls me up some prety steep climbs with not a prob... when I get a chance to do some work on the exaust and the rear "bumper" I will show you what i come up with

I'm looking at the Venom 125 too. Wondering if anyone has anything more to say about them. Mrtwister's postings have been great. This is for my 12 year old son as a reward for a fantastic report card in school. We have several acres to buzz around in, mostly flat and gently rolling. We don't want to spend a fortune 'till we see how this works out. I contacted Venom and they seem legitimate. I just want something that'll work OK for a 2-3 years. Any other comments would be appreciated.
