lt80 sprocket change
Hey there,
That stinks. I've heard numerous people say that size chain works great.
What size sprockets and what kind (aluminum/Steel) are you using?
Is there a reason you are having problems, that you know of?
Anybody else have any ideas??
The reason I ask is that I'm also looking at going with new gearing and going with #40 chain and a 13 to 15 front and 26 rear. You can get half links for that chain, which makes sizing it easier.
Anyway, good luck

I didn't have any luck with the 40# chain. The half links kept breaking. The chain stretches real fast too. Just make you a roller and tension it that way. I've since gone with a good quality 428 chain and it didn't stretch near as fast as the 40 did. You may have to make a couple of different holes for the chain stretching. I drilled a hole thru the steel plate that that the chain runs by and put in a chain roller to keep it tensioned works good.
If you are talking about the mid-west mini chain tensioner I know what you are talking about. I think it is a really poor design.
