lt80 rebuild
#2
I would bore it only as much as needed. You need to mic the bore now and see how big it is. Then buy the next bigger piston and have the cyclinder bored to fit the piston. Then before you start putting it all together, slide the rings into the cyclinder and check the end gap. (make sure it is at the specs that is given with the piston information)
Boring these little things really doesn't provide a noticable power gain, so bore as little as you can to save for the next time.
Pistons can be had from almost any parts supplier. Alot of builders perfer the stock Suzuki pistons. (I don't know who makes them for Suzuki) As for myself, I kinda liked the Pro X piston. I don't know if its any better or worse than Weisco or others, but it did look really good and it had coated skirts.
As for tips? Doing a search on here will provide more info than you'll ever need. The rebuild is pretty stright forward. If you need more, I will try to help, or ther are others on here that can help.
GOOD LUCK!!!
