They are different engines too. The ute looked like it had the 233cc twin cylinder Honda Rebel engine.

Yeah, all the sports and most of the Utilities are CVTs, and the Kazuma/Redcat KMZ-250, RFX-250 Utility ATVs still use the 250cc Liquid-Cooled Thumper, while the new Redcat/Lifan LX-250 Utility uses a Twin Cylinder Air-Cooled motor with 5-Speed Manual.

I'd love to bring some stuff down to Kermit, but space on my hauler is limited, and when I go to the dunes, I bring this:

Sandrail 1

Sandrail 2

Plus, the wife is prego and about ready to pickle, so no dunes for us for a while. I'd be more than willing head up and drink some beer in a few months, though.

I had a link on my original post, but it disappeared, I put it back. Here it is again on the Redcat home page. THIS is the FX-250 I am referring to, it indicates identical dimensions and weight as the 150MKII, but in looking close at the photo, it does appear a little taller, and the a-arms look alot longer? Kazoooma, any idea if this is the one you rode? I am aware of the larger TCX-250, I'm not interested in that one.

Yeah, the dimensions are wrong. It is at least as wide as the MKII (at least 37"). Some people say that it is considerably wider than 37inches, too. I'll measure one just as soon as I come across another one.

I guess I don't know at this point. The one picture I've seen of the "adult" size one had different tires. The one I rode had tires like the one in your link.

The black redcat in the link is not the same as the red one in the thumbnail below it. The red one in the thumbnail is possibly a FX-150 because it lacks dual a-arms.

Im good with wider, wider would be more stable and safer. Just concerned it is a bigger and heavier bike than the 150MKII. If I could trust the specs I would be good, but as has been pointed out, they have photos of two different bikes on the same page. Tough to know whats accurate with so much conflicting information out there...........Thanks again for the input.

Aaron, that's a great point. The black atv is an FX250, and the red one is an older 150.

Raptorlegs, that sandrail was built with a LOT of blood, sweat, and tears, my friend....but it's fun now that's it's done....well, I don't think anything is ever "done," but it's at least mostly done....bigger turbo with an intercooler may be in store in a year or so....

predtldrider, the FX250 will be a little heavier because of the bigger engine and associated cooling system parts (radiator, fan, overflow tanks, etc). I don't think anyone really has a good idea of how much they actually weigh, but I'll see if I can find out for ya. There is a lot of conflicting, or at the very least, limited information out there, but one thing is certain: If you can get an FX250 for around $2,000 bucks, it will be money well spent. Once you get the 250s tuned up, they flat-out scream.

Just so happens, I measured an FX-250's front wheel width this weekend, it's a little more than 39" compared to the 37" of the FX-150 mk II.
