Race fuel in TRX 70
Will it hurt the engine of my daughters TRX 70 to run 110 octane race fuel? The top end was just completely rebuilt and I expect the compression to be close to stock. Not sure what that would be though. I know you need to run it in high compression bikes like my 250r because of predetenation, but will the opposite occur in lower compression machines? Will have a hard time detenating the fuel?
Thanks

I would think that it would be a total waste of money. From what I understand thumpers need oxygen not octane. My ktm400 runs no different on 100 octane gas compared to 92 octane(both from a conoco 66 station) The same cant be said for my 2 strokes. They ping fiecely on 92. I mix 1.5 gals 100 otane with 3.5 gals 92 and they run like a champ.

It shouldn't hurt anything but willl be a big waste of money like mywifesquad said.High octane fuels ignite slower thus preventing detonation in high compression engines but in low compression engines it burns too slowly and can actually cost a little power.Probably not enough to notice but I certainly wouldn't waste the race gas.
