Is the bolt on the rear cluch (the one you see right away when you remove the large exterior cover) a reverse or standard thread??

yep regular thread like LT80 said,
But the larger next BIG nut is a reverse (left hand) thread.
And it's under tension from the spring so it is kinda hard to get off.
I just did mine last night, wasn't to bad.

Now just need to figure out where to take the material off to lighten them up

I got an impact set and now I'm set! Got it apart, and I'm now able to get through it fairly quickly...what do you mean by take material off? I already have a clutch kit on it which is was part of the problem. The machine is otherwise stock so I had to go back to the stock rollers and spring. Can you somehow drill it out and reduce the weight and improve performance?

Q4F, you are presuming it's an LT80. I never asked cuz the little nut's the same on all. On the other Tiawanese machines, the big nut is right hand thread cuz the motor turns the opposite direction.

You cannot increase performance with clutch mods. the motor does that.
You can improve the take off somewhat by adjusting the roller weight.

yeah yeah yeah, you are right. I just got done re-reading through all the LT80 topics whewwww
So I had LT80 on the brain

I did adjust the front roller weights to help with take-off. Actually, to this point I have just removed 2 of them.

I was going to buy another rear clutch assembly to play with(so I don't screw up the only one I have)
I read on a couple other topics where taking the weight of the rear clutch plates (or whatever they are called) down from about 200 grams to about 175 grams each would also help???????
Not sure if that is true or not, so that's why I want another rear clutch in case I screw it up.

I want to stay as stock as I can with this one, got 2 other youngins coming up behind my current racergirl and they can learn on a "stock" machine.
But I'm trying to learn about these things by doing all the reading I can and try to sort through all the info.
Lots of trial and error for me. I could as a million questions on here while I'm playing, but don't want to overdue it
I'm looking for another LT to modify the motor on.
Might need your address soon hehehe

Thanks a Bunch Jack
