In the intake elbow, between the carb and the cylinder. The restrictor looks kind of like a key hole. Heat it up and the restrictor will come right out.

I'm looking into this as well, if I remove both these restrictors will I need to do anything else?
I've heard mentioned I need a cooler plug? I was going to buy a new plug today anyway, if it will need a cooler one will it run ok before I remove the restrictors?

I'm also interested in a response...if a cooler plug is required, what is recommended?

Thanks.

Your stock plug should be fine. I have an lt80 and we removed the restrictors before we ever rode the bike. Relpace the plug with another stock one and watch it closely. Only after motorwork did I change the plug type. Hope this helps.

Hymis, you said "watch it closely." What am I looking for? I actually have a Graydon pipe on it too and it seems to run fine with the stock plug, is there anything else I should be aware of?

Also, I see you're in Oceanside...I graduated highschool at San Dieguito HS in Encinitas.

Zane,.Check the color of the plug. If its dark you might try going up one size on your main jet. If you have a pipe on it you should have a larger jet. You want the plug to burn a light brown color. Not real dark, not real light. San Dieguito is a very good school. My folks live on Neptune St. the fourth house to the right of stone steps I'm using the adress for my kids to attend.

Thanks Hymis, I'll have to keep an eye on it.

Your kids should have fun at SD. I graduated in 1990, a couple years ago. Just make sure your kids don't go on too many TJ trips...oh the stories...
