Default LT 50 pull cord problems

Almost everytime we start our LT 50, the pull cord loses tension and stops "grabbing" when it is pulled. We have to take the cover off and replace a small part that falls out of place. The local shop suggested it was a design flaw. Has anyone else seen this? Any ideas on how to permanately fix it?

Thanks

Thanks for the response.

It is a small gold colored metal part that is supposed to pivot and catch. But it keeps falling out and landing in the bottom of the side cover. I am afraid to glue it because it needs to pivot, and it can't be nailed or screwed because it is plastic behind it. I would appreciate any suggestions.

It seem to me you could go to your local Suzuki dealer and just buy the part that you need. Instead of fooling around with it all the time. I can't imagine the part would cost that much.
