Default predator 50 exhaust damage

ok folks I need some help.

My daughter took a pretty good whack in the tail pipe last weekend, and now the exhaust sounds as if it's running wide open. It sounds like the additional noise is coming from the front of the engine. I've checked the pipe and can't find any cracks. I'm thinking it may have separated at the mount, but don't see anything.

Is there any way to diagnose this besides hit or miss replacement of parts?

thanks in advance.

Ray

Take the pipe off and get a better look at it. If the exhast is louder its most likley a hole in the pipe or the exhasut gasket is shot.

thanks - it was the gasket. There was none! I'm assuming that when she took the whack in the pipe, it jarred it enough that the gasket either disentegrated or just slipped enough that it dislodged, never to be seen again.

Are you sure it isn't stuck in flange of the pipe?

it's definitely not in the pipe, and if there's not supposed to be one there than the force of the blow must have bent the pipe flange. you can actually feel the pressure coming from between the flange and the block when it's bolted on.

Can anyone verify that there should NOT be a gasket there?

There is a gasket there but its a steel compression ring type gasket I believe they are like 3.50 each.
