Default dirt drags

Another good drag track to run the minis is Thunder Valley Sand Drags in grain valley Mo. My girls run they're bikes there and have a blast. Paddle tires are a plus cause it's very loose tilled sand/dirt mix but it's 300' bracket sand drag racing so everyone's evened out based on their timed runs. On the 4th race my daughters Arctic Cat 90 ran a 8.159 at 34mph on a 8.160 dialin and lost she was mad at Dad to say the least. This is a little faster than the stock crank/ ported cylinder we ran last year with the drag port on the 52mm so when I get done with the 47mm/54mm it'll really fly. We're running the stock engagement springs and a stock clutch to not spin so hard off the line. She'll easily be in the 7's next trip im sure I have a different cylinder that will be a little close to my 52mm drag port timing. Running a 47mm crank,54mm cyl,30mm powerjet carb 165 mainjet, homemade reeds, homemade intake, modified 13cc head, homemade reed spacer, ported piston, 8 port cylinder porting with 2 extra boost ports I added, modified stock rear clutch, racing front variator 6.5 gram weights. None of the mini co's make the proper parts for drags so I have had to make a lot of stuff. Glad to see others are getting into mini drags. These "mini banshees" are getting better every day. Todd

I still am not convinced that bigger is better. It all has to go through the clutchs.
I have a LT80 (82cc) that ran 7 seconds in 300 ft. last year. We're hoping for better this year as the dude refined some things.

This is sand drags. Not dirt. Stock banshees only run a 7 or so at Thunder valley very loose track. The fast 90's spin for 150' or so and leave 6" ruts for 50' come on up. My kids have a blast at Thunder Valley cost is $15 every racer gets at least a small trophy at awards ceremony.

Thanks for the info we might consider coming if the awards are worth the drive. My boys run in the 6 to 7 second range depending on the track conditions.LT 80 is right it's all in the clutching.I heard that Boone Terra gives some great awards at times.

I do understand that different tracks/conditions play a great part in times varying. There is no perfect time from one track to another.

Stock banshees only run high 7's at times in sand and low 5's on dirt. Some people may claim really fast times for minis but they are never at the track to prove it. They just stay on the computer where they're bikes are much faster. Those times Atvrme and others posted are way slower than all the imaginary races in the 6-7 sec range others are claiming. Those are good times atvrme dont let anyone tell you any different till they prove they can build one faster it's all BS good job!
