Who knows the Kasea CVT
#1
Just got it, and I'm still learning about this machine. It appears the CVT belt is behind the aluminum? crankcase cover. I'm from the Polaris world - where the belt exists behind a plastic vented cover. I can't figure out where this CVT is vented to. Does anyone know if it is? Then, if I want to inspect the belt, I guess I need to separate this aluminum cover, does that mean I will be spilling gear oil when I do? I would love to hear from anyone who has been inside this unit.

The belt is behind the cover. The cover helps hold the rear pulley in place. No oil in this area.
Vent on my cvt is in the cover itself. You can see a foam filter in a hole on the cover.

If you were to remove the plastic cover on that polaris you had, you'd find aluminum similiar to what you are seeing now.
Like raptorlegs said, it's in there.

Not true LT80 - I have direct access to the clutches when I remove the Polaris cover. The Kasea has a plastic shroud attached with two screws to this aluminum cover attached with what looks to be over 1/2 dozen. The Polaris CVT is vented by a large diameter snorkle. This CVT looks primarily sealed - which makes me nervous about heat buildup. And since I have never been inside the Kasea yet - I am just trying to know what to expect before opening the cover to do an inspection.

I stand corrected
I donno, it sure seems weird that Polaris or anyone would use a plastic CVT cover, but seeins I havent personnally worked on a Polaris, I surely will not doubt you.
The Eton has a plastic cover, then the aluminum CVT cover.

Think he's referring to the Polaris 500. The Polaris mini's are the same as the eton from what I understand.
