Default Battery (charge) Life??

The battery in my son's Predator 90 discharges if it sits over 2 weeks. What is typical? It is approximately 2 years old. I would buy another battery, but would hate to do so if there is another problem. Anything I can check before making the purchase?
Thanks,

i would start by fully chaarging battery and then just disconnect neg terminal and see how long it will hold a charge i think two weeks is not enough i also think 2 years is very good for a $25 battery

Default Battery (charge) Life??

.

The original battery in our '03 Pred-90 won't hold a charge either. I can charge it with a trickle charger, my son drives it for 3 hours (NO lights) and the battery is near dead. A few times, I fully charged, disconnected its negative wire and 5 days later, it didn't even have enough "stored juice" to wheel its starter over. Sounds like your original battery is the same. But do fully charge, disconnect the negative wire and try a few days later. If it won't store juice (like our original battery), then its cooked too.

Hope this helps...

Default Battery (charge) Life??

Thanks for the info. I thought something was wrong with my charger. I would have to charge it over and over again. I have had it disconnected with the same results. I didnt know they didnt last that long. I guess I will be getting a battery this weekend.
Thanks,

Same here. No problems with the new battery.

I may be shopping at all the wrong places. I called locally and they want $65.95. Then I remembered another source I have used in the past and they want $79.99. Am I stuck with the local dealer? Jeese!!!!!

Bought mine at walmart for $20. But it's not in the factory box.

Nope, just a 12 volt motorcycle battery from walmart. You might try taking some measurements but mine is probably about 2" taller than stock. About the same depth and width. They had a copuple different kinds. I had to relocate mine for my pipe anyway. So it was no big deal.

If nothing else, I bet you'd be able to mail order one for less than dealer cost.
