I replaced my top end with a wiseco and did 4, 10 minute heat cylcles before I even took it for a ride. It was tight for a good while and is only now starting to run like it should (10 rides later). You really need to let those wisecos warm up REAL good before riding. I'm a big fan of wiseco pistons.

I feel it is the problem. A mighty common one on a LT80. At .030 over you had no choice but to go the Weisco route.
Take it apart and sand the aluminum off the cylinder and sand the piston below the ring gaps. Sand any other squeezed spots (lightly).I've had to do this 1 too many times.
Put it together and hot/cold it a few times, then run at 1/2 throttle for 5-10 minutes.
Weisco's call for .003 clearance, I've found that .0035 is ness.
It'll rattle, but it'll run.

It might be the wiseco but not because it .030 over. My wiseco does just fine. Guess I got lucky????
