04 AC 90cc - switching to a 35 tooth sprocket?
#1
2004 AC 90cc ATV - I was told to replace the stock 50 tooth sprocket witha 35 tooth sprocket to gain about 8mph. Will I loose bottom end by doing this? Thanks

You will lose very little bottom end with a 35. I have a 90cc 2 stroke cat and will tell you that a 50 tooth sprocket is a ridiculously large rear sprocket intended to limit top speed of the minis most minis (like 100 different brands) come with a 35 or 28 stock. But cat 90, bombardier, some others come with a 50 tooth. I'll bet you'll be happy with a 35

I've used them a bunch of time and everything has always gone smoothly.

I have the 30,32,and the 35 sprockets. There is very little difference on the 3. It all depends on the XC track to see which 1 we run. If I was to only have 1 sprocket it would be the 32. Believe me I have tested them all. The 50t was put on there as a restricter! The clutch will keep it in the right gear.

If you did some minor mods to clutching you will get the same acceleration off the line as the 50 tooth. Our modded cat 90 pulled 36Mph in 300' sand drags with a 35 tooth last year and was still accelerating. Our cat is now our fastest bike but stock it was pretty weak. Sprocket specialists may be cheaper for the sprockets too.

I bought a 30 tooth sproket from rebel gears. have not installed it yet, kinda leary being an aluminum gear. I am considering clutch mods and engine mods before installing the gear
