Default ETON 150 Viper Question

Looking to update my Boys 2002 Sportsman 90 which is just a little to finicky for my mechanical skills. He is 9 but is 4'9" and about 80lbs and doing great in developing his riding skills.

Has any one looked at or purchased a new Viper 150? They have been shipping from the dealers since May. How has parts availabilty been, overall quality, etc.... ????

The bike looks good has speed controlers, and it seems to be a great middle fit before going to a 200-250 class machine.

Thanks for the input!

Thanks for the input!

What type of riding are you doing with your boy? Mountain? Trail? Sand? Water?

How long have you had it?

Is it a good climber?

Have you taken it through deep water?

What is the estimated top speed?

I know lots of questions... Just havent met anyone with experience on these except the dealer.

I appreciate your time.

Default ETON 150 Viper Question

I have the viper YXL150. My wife rides it and loves it. She is 4'10" and 94 lbs. Its a perfect fit for her. She and I ride it on some pretty tuff terain in Colorado Mountains 4x4 only type trails, and then bring it back to Missouri for some flat land trail stuff. It has performed well. The only issue we had with it was that it didnt like coming down from a high rev to idle in Colorado. It would always die. I adjusted the idle screw up, and it fixed the problem, probly would have helped if I had it re-jetted thou. The dealers locally say they have yet to see one come in for any "major" repairs. Just routine maintenence.

Default ETON 150 Viper Question

Here in the Philippines we run a quad tour company and use 7 E-to cxl 150 challengers. Same as cxl Yukon. And as far as I know same as Viper except for looks. We had to rejet the carbs from 104 mains to 100s. And we made our own foam air filters to t=let them breath better. Other then that only small incidentals. But I think E-ton is getting a bad reputation for lack of factory support.
