Your next step is to accept the fact that you are no LT80 builder.
Send the motor to a reputable mini builder and get a motor/clutch kit that works together.
Countless ppl buy parts and pieces here and there. They think they can do things and find out they cannot.
After spending 3x what was originally needed they finally figure out they needed a kit. Not to mention all the aggrivation of piecing one together and having it slow, and most of all the disappointment of the child because the parent is making him/her suffer with less than they deserve. Stick with a zuki piston (unless your above 51mm)~~ Don't bore the carb (it don't help).

I would agree with LT80 (Jack). Repairing and especially "beefing up" a mini is much harder and time consuming then it looks. There's so many things to take into account. For example, piston, head, compression, porting, clutch, carb air filter, reeds, pipe, sprockets, etc. If one of these items is a little off, the "full potential" performance of the entire mini will suffer. Besides this, the "average Joe" (like myself) will take up to 10 times longer to pull it together and to tweak it to create a chocolate brown spark plug color. While spending many hours in the garage, average Joe's "wife and kids" will either divoice the mechanic or at a minimum, cut him off their Christmas list. I know, because I've been there many times over. If "time & perfection" is your main focus for your 92 LT-80, then do find a great "Performance Magnification Builder". If wondering, Engine builders only build engines. "Performance Magnification Builders" customize the entire mini for your unique riding conditions. Thus eliminating that old Christmas saying of "it's just what I asked for but NOT what I wanted" outcome.
Something to think of....

Mr LT80 is the man for those mini's. Jack will build you a motor that will holeshot hard and race great, but can also be taken for a casual ride around the yard if you so wish. I built polaris quads for a long time and have that clutching down pat, but the little LT gave me quite a good fit and eventually I entrusted Jack as well. He did a super job for us. Thanks again Jack.
