Default blaster rebuild

Well my blaster blew out something this weekend. Limped back tot he truck barely running..compression checked out about 60psi..I put some oil directly into the spark plug hole and it went to about 75ish... the cylinder wall looks good like maybe i could just hone it and put in some rings, but I am going to do it one time right. Rather than measuring and ordering a piston kit and then machining the cylinder, I am thinking about using one of the online top end rebuild guys where i send my jug in and they measure, machine, and fit the right piston.

Have any of you gone this route?

Anyone in paricular you recommend?

I havent seen anyone advertise this, but would they also port/polish my head? Should I?

I would tear it down first and see what you have. Maybe just some rings and a hone job and your back on the trail?

I got it apart today...the cylinder wall has a few lines that were visible after i wiped it out a little ( cant feel them), but I am going to go ahead and bore.

Default Blaster Rebuild Web Link

I have this very cool, very in-depth Blaster web link to share. I got it on this forum, so thought I'd return to the group. It may be some help with your work.
