my buddy was walkin down the stairs the otherday to answer the door and he fell. so maybe stairs shouldnt be in houses. their too dangerous. My mom was walkin her dog across the yard and sliped and broke her ankle. so maybe we should walk our dogs on grass. you could get hurt. Lifes full of risk. things wich seem dangerous to some. are really not for others. I know plenty of 18+ yr old girls that have barely enough up stairs to give a decent blowie let alone drive a car or motorcycle. and i know allotta lil kids that can rip chit up on mocycles. Everyone is differnt.

Everything has a danger, that is the point attempting to be made here.

At 1.5, kids can't even use the toilet, wipe and wash their hands by themselves, much less operate motorized equipment.

Making kids is a lot easier than raising them ofc. Based on your posts, you're obviously only good at one.

I wouldn't let a one year old play on stairs either, they have enough trouble on a flat surface.

OFC, your preaching to the choir when you talk about the might as well wrap yourself up in bubble wrap bit. I have been using that one all week on half my friends that are afraid to ride now. Jon dies going thru a smooth field, a kid that went to my schoold just died a month ago by tripping and his head hit a brick. I believe in living every day to the fullest, I would hate to die if I was the "bubble wrap" type of person. As of now, I could except it cause I feel I have "lived" my short life so far. You should know me well enough by now to know that.
As for not really getting hurt, basically if you don't get hurt, your riding like grandma. It is going to happen adventually. I broke my arm playing tennis in gym class for crying out loud. There is a lot higher risk factor on a bike.
Im kind of sitting on the fence about having them ride really young. I kind of believe in the training wheel method just so they can get used to it, but at the same time they have to be able to wipe there own **** as someone put it.

Couldn't stand on the sidelines any longer. As a general practice doc, I've seen my fair share of tragic stuff, but the really painful stuff is when kids get hurt bad. I know, nobody likes to see it happen, so everyone should use common sense to avoid the bad stuff. Does this mean stay inside and have no fun? Absolutely not. Not a day goes by without my kids wanting to go ride their quads. I've also taken them, one on one, to outdoor ranges and, "Gasp in horror!!", let an 8 yr old shoot an AR-15. Guns and quads, sounds either like a cool magazine or a recipe for disaster. Instead, with responsible, adult supervision it becomes good SAFE fun.
We live in the greatest country on earth and have the rights afforded to no other citizens. Along with those rights come the responsibilities. You are responsible for your own actions. Take personal responsibility to ensure the safety of those who lack the physical, emotional or intellectual ability to keep themselves out of harm's way. Should you put a 4 yr old on an 80? Depends on a lot of things and everyones' opinion will vary. Just be responsible. If things go wrong, don't blame the kid or the ATV manufacturer. Don't call the law firm of Dewey, Cheatum and Howe, to draw up a lawsuit. Step up and take responsibility. I would much rather see any kid ride a quad while supervised than riding around in car, unbelted and sitting on the lap of grandma while she runs out to pick up a 4 pack of wine coolers and carton of Virginia Slims.
Does anyone have a step ladder I can use to get down off this soap box??

That's what I got Natalie for!
LOL, talk about being tough, my tennis net stunt left my arm looking like a friggin noodle, and I raced karts the next day with one arm for the most part. Three weeks ago I landed on my friggin head from 50ft. in the air, I ain't broke. Earlier this year remember I cased a 80 ft tripple and raced the next weekend and brought home a top 5. Oh and there's plenty more buddy!
You got to ride hard to feel the pain, I hear the talk, but I ain't seen the walk yet homie, or the trophy's, or the women, or the gahoona's. J/K, j/k LMAO
