this project is probably a year off yet mywifesquad, just looking into the idea, got the motor running fine now so i think i'll just spend a year completely abusing it till i think of doing this mod

 

that starter clutch is playing up again! my word this is getting frustrating (and repetitive). This may sound like quite a late time to mention this but is it possible it's the oil type??? was using an aviation mineral oil and then a synthetic oil, but the synthetic was only in there after it was put back together.... any thoughts. hard to explain the type of starter clutch it is... it has three contact points which are made from cylindrical bearings which are in shape grooves that force it to squeeze onto the starter gear and then the centrafugal force of the started engine causes them to recess into the larger part of the groove where they no longer make contact. not sure if that is clear or even if it helps...
