Default He did it to me again!!!!!

.

After dinner tonight, my 10 year old son & I did a 2 hour trail run with our '03 Pred-90. We visited his favorite lookout spot, talked about how his future house would look on the cliff side, we dodged between trees and we played in the mud. During one slippery mud hole, he pretends that he's stuck by giving it a little gas and holding the front brakes on. Like always, I get off my ATV and walk behind him to "push it out". As I reach the 4 foot distance mark, he guns it. Vision a 2 gallon pale of mud / slush thrown between someone's shoulders and knees. That's how bad he got me. And I can't believe I fell for it again. You'd think I'd learn from the previous 4 other times he nailed me this way. Man, is "pay back" when he gets a little older going to be great!!!!

On a postive note... It was great to be "on the mud trails" again. With assistance from Billy Holt at WRH Racing and many others, our '03 Pred-90 has never run better. Beer bottle brown plug color and lots of bottom end power without a loud screaming RPM engine. Gotta give thanks were thanks is due....

Do you have any postive memories you want to share with us???

During the last 10 minutes of our ride, I allowed my son to lead down the trail. It was a straight trail (if there was, we could see yahoos coming at us in the distance) and we had to cross a 4" water puddle. It was a small puddle around 20 feet long. My son slowed down and pulled over to the right of it - where it wasn't so deep. With a wide path on his left, I got a sudden "glea in my eye". Should I pass him on the left NOW (causing an instant mud shower on him) or wait until he's a little older? I'm sure next year, he'll have better surprise control of his mini and make the same mistake again. So yes, I'm plotting away. When the time is right, it's going to be "pay back" fun.... Can't wait!!!!

I can't believe he got ya good, or that you would admit how many time the lil rug rat has actually pulled this off

Those are great times though aren't they
Wouldn't pass them up for anything......
Those rides are the ones you two will always remember and talk about years from now

The same thing here, all our good stories are about just doing stuff together..Yes, my kids get me with the ol jokes to, but dad gets 'em right back when they least expect it

My best story just happen Sunday.
This story isn't at all about winning or losing, it is about the joys of having fun/learning/getting confidence/and finally putting it all together
My 10 y/o daughter has been racing since December.
There is one boy that has finished 1st place every race they've had, in both series, while she always finishes second. He is a good kids and a good racer, he gets lots of practice at home. While my daughter unfortunatley get most of her practice on practice days at the track and race day.
The very last moto of there first series, she finally was ahead of him. She lead the race for 3 laps, and he managed to pass her on the last lap to win. She was obviously disappointed, but she said, with a smile on her face, it was the funnest race so far
Well the next series, same thing, he gets first every race, she gets second.
The last moto of the series, he is leading the first 3 laps by about 50 feet. They come to slow traffic and he decides to go wide, Ash decides to go inside (which she has learned to set herself up for the next corner and she knew that was the better line to take in this instance). She didn't pass him, but got to within 10 feet. She has learned the track and knows where she wants to be for the next two corners. So the next corner she takes the inside and passes him handily to get in front and takes the inside of the next turn, and it's all over from there. She holds him off for her first win, wahoooo girl. The joy, excitement, and smile on her face was priceless. Sure it was because she won, but more importantly to her was that her hard work and the time we've spent together really shined that day.
When I asked her if she knew why she won, she told me everything we had worked on and that she had learned, and applied it. Her riding skills/techniques are really starting to take shape

Anyway, sorry for the book version, but these times with our kids are the greatest, and what memories are made of. Of course my daughter loves/wants to win like any kid, but I'm more proud that she is just out there to have fun and be a good sportsman, and always comes off with a smile.

This great sport or ATV riding is definately one of the greatest family activities, hands down

Unfortunately I've created a obsessed racer that is having way to much fun, Thus I now have a new quad sitting in the garage with a Moore modified motor in it...... Look out boys

AAhhhh, the memories you guys are creating by being out there with your kids is timeless I have some with my kids also. Wait for a few years to go by and reminisce about them around a campfire or fireplace I can see the laughter now LOL!

The wife and I camped and rode with our boys so much, its hard to pick out a favorite memory. The memory that is is most vivid in my mind now that they have grown up. Oldest 19, moved out. Youngest 18 starts college in a couple weeks. The thing I remember most is how they grew over the years. When it all started there were these 2 little tiny boys following me in the woods or the track. Now its 2 adults on full size bikes following me around.

I made the mistake of taking my sons out to an old half dried up pond once. We were all having fun and the mud wasn't to bad. (about an 1" of water and just a little soft mud under that) UNTIL..... I broke through the crusty layer just under the water and fell through to the guey bottomless mud. When my sons figured out that I was stuck, they really let me have it!! Doing dounuts right beside me and splashing the water all over me until I abandoned ship and ran for drier ground!! Both of my sons laughed so hard ar me they almost pee'd their britches!! There wasn't a spot on me that wasn't muddy!! It was all good fun......just wish my wife would have thought so when she was doing our laundry!!!!
