Is it used? I got my LT50 from a local dealer used for 1399 last fall. It was 2 years old at the time. I think those are the same quad. I think the MSRP is 1799 new. So I don't know what to tell you on price. If it is the same quad as the LT50(Suzuki), I have had pretty good luck with it. My kids were 6 and 8 when they got it and have progressed with it nicely. The only problems that I have had with it is when I start tinkering for "more power". And I seem to have those bugs worked out now. My kids trail ride with me on it now and it does pretty good for a 50. There is a picture of it on my profile thing so you can see if it looks the same as the KFX.

Thats new OTD. I think its 1800 msrp. The Suzuki looks the same. I am concerned on the power of it. I dont want him being bored with it after a year. I got him a battery operated one that goes 5mph and he got bored after 3 months and wants to go faster. Should I go straight to a 90 or 80cc? and keep it limited? Obviously though I dont want him to get hurt on something to big. I cant find a used one anywhere near here. I dont want a cheap one because there is nothing worse than telling him he cant ride it because its broke. I know because he gets ticked when the battery dies on the one he has now. thanks for the feedback

I dont think I would spend $1800 for a atv for a 6 year old. My son is 8 now and I bought him an LT80 when he was six and it worked fine I paid $2000 for it new Recently I bought him a redcat and I only paid $1200 for it. These redcat machines are fast"and cheap" I also bought my other son a 75cc redcat for $600 and again was very please. I just dont see the difference between the 2 different atvs at this age especially that our kids grow so fast. My sister bought a 2004 polaris 90 for my niece and paid over $2500 not a big difference in the redcat 110 and the polaris 90 except the redcat was $700 and the polaris was $2500 believe it or not the 110 was faster

Looking at the pictures of that Red lt 50 brought back some fond memories. My son Michael started out on 1 just like it. I built it up and made it go as fast as 1 could go.He started racing it when he was 5 in XC races. He won a ton of xc races on it ! Put an FMF pipe on it and rejet it and remove the little jet under the main jet. It really made a difference. I also changed the front sprocket. I even remember 1 race there were 9 90's in a xc race and he finished 5th overall. If the quad is new the price is a good 1. They are a very good built quad but lack alot on power when it comes to a hill. If the child is big enough you can get a very good quad with a cvt transmission for the same price. They were only asking $1700 for my sons AC 50 in 2004. Plus there are a ton of aftermarket mods for them and hardly any for the lt50. What other brands of mini quads are there in your town. This is just my 2 cents worth . I'm not knocking the suzuki. Just leting you know what you are getting. I sold it because he grew out if it in 1 year. You can only do so much to them.

I have no doubt that the "cheap" models have fast engines. Im sure most of the engines or at least parts are made by the same company. When I was looking at the the difference was in the suspension and details. Also as stated before RELIABILITY is number one for me and second handling in the features of the quad (excluding safety). To me a fast quad and bad suspension is a recipe for a bad accident. I would rather them have a slow quad with a good suspension. I need them to be able to go through most of the trails with us. With that said if you can direct me to a atv that meets those features please tell me. I dont want to pay 2 grand for a quad either for a 5 year old, would much rather pay under a grand. If so it better last until hes around or 10. Thats why i was thinking of the 90cc. I looked at the predator 90cc and it looks like it has everything a full quad has with the suspension and reverse. I didnt look cheap and it wasnt for $2300. I dont want to buy a cheap quad and it not be safe for the riding environment and him get hurt. Money is important but safety is much more to me. I appreciate your comments. Thanks

Bluetick, I was writing when you were! I am not biased on brands. I owned all of the majors besides Bombadier in my life and all have faults. I have a 2005 predator, 2005 arctic cat 500 manaul and a 2000 scrambler right now. I was looking at the kawasaki becuase his favorite color is the kawi green so I thought he would like that. I live near Detroit so I am within 20 miles of every company. i can get the best deals with kawi, polaris, yamaha, bomb.

You said that you are near a bomb dealer. It is the brother to the Cat. I would buy another Cat . This Quad has well over 500 hours of pure Heck. If My 7 yr old boy can't tear this thing up it can't be tore up! This quad to me is awesome. Heck the engine has 27 Hard XC races on it and they are 45 minutes long each. With a Hetrick powered 70 mods and I have never done a thing to the engine but put 1 top end rebuild on it. I just did the second 1 tonight after the last top end rebuild on 5/04/05. And it had 4 national races and 10 XC series races on it.But the kicker is I have NEVER had to split the case yet!. You may have to replace a tire rod and a bushing once and a while but they all wear out sometimes on the mini's. But it is rode rough.I know that you will probably never race, you said trail riding and this is what we do also. His race quad is his trail quad also. What I'm trying to say is the Bomb and the Cat are very tuff mini's and are well worth a look. But what ever you choose please ride safe and have MANY enjoyable times with the little ones!

I just looked at the arctic cat 50 and 90cc and the the 90cc looks awesome. Its a full featured quad for sure. Nothing looks cheap on it and with 7.3 inches of ground clearance it could go through all the trails. Thats as much as most sport quads. The 90cc cat looks the same as my 05 500 cat. The Bomb looked real nice to. So its the same thing as the cat with a sport body on it? Im concerned with him outgrowing it fast. I dont mind spending 2 grand on the quad but it better last until hes 10 or 12 years old (currently 5). Thats why I was thinking with just getting the 90cc and keeping it governed until he grows into it more. this would allow him to grow with the quad. I know with the 50 cc I would have to ungovern it before I gave it to him because stock I dont think it would go down the trails and the 50cc tend not to have a good suspension or ground clearance. What do you think? Would the 90cc be safe governed? he is used to driving around at 5mph with no problems.

I really don't know the skill or the size of your child. Only you do. Yes alot of kids can ride them. I had to keep our lt80 locked up when Michael was 5 because he would jump on it and want to ride the wheels off of it. So you may have 1 of those kids. The 90 is a fine machine if you think he can do it. And yes they both are the same quad.Actually the cat 50 is the same quad as both 90's but smaller tires and smaller engine. Both quads are very nice mini's! I would buy another but I'm going 4 stroke. I want to start on an 06 Honda 90. They need to start shifting.
