Default LT50 Gear Ratio

I have done all the engine mods possible on my daughters LT50. We are still looking for more speed on race day. When we ride recreationally I am just fine with its limitations esspecially in areas where she is unfamilier with the terrain or I may be out of site for a bit. I am waiting for CTRacing to finish the clutch mod and will do that if it looks like it will give her an edge on the track. In the mean time I am curious about gear ratio. I have read myself into dizzyness regarding sprocket sizes. In looking at a couple of different charts it looks like if I drop her front sprocket to 10 teeth and leave the rear at 37 I will create a ratio of 3.70. 1. will this give her more top end speed on the arena style tracks we run? 2. Will it kill off too much of what little bottom end these things have? Can anyone give me - in little dumb guy words - some direction or examples of what sprocket set ups you specifically use and for what kinds of conditions they work best in.

Here is a link to a company that works on the LT50

http://www.miniquadracing.com/lt50parts.html

I saw the link on another thread

I am getting ready to purchase the CT Racing kit next week....Was it a big difference?

We also run Castor 927 after removing the injection system and this made it run alot better and the plug never fouls

I bet the clutch will help the single speed tranny which is the biggest down fall on this machine except for the suspension

Have you done any suspension upgrades?

All of these add ons really make me think I should look elswhere for a serious racing quad

I talked at length with the tech guy at Cobra about both the King50 and thier new 50cc quad. Tech guy claims thier new $6500.00 50cc quad will take him 50mph. Sounds SWEEEET I'm not sure if I could sell that to mommy. Could land me outdoors for a long cold winter.

I have called miniquad racing in the past and they indicated to me that they nolonger deal with the lt50 am I wrong?

RE the CT kit. I should probably fill out a employment app with these guys and get some commission. I really like the kit and tell everyone about it. Took me 1 1/2 hours to install. I went slow because I was meticulous about every part along the way. My daughter is very impresssed with the results. You will see as I have that top end is killer but it still lacks any punch at take off. Thats why I am wondering about sprocket setups. I think I remember Maggiesboy mentionig something about gear ratios but his description was very vague. Hey maggiesboy...you out there?

As far as the clutch kit goes make sure you ask them about it when you order the kit maybe with more requests they will get it to market sooner.

no way I will spend $600.00 on suspension for this thing. LT500 got the Works set up and from what I read he digs it. For now I used someones advise to air down and suck up impact with the sidewalls. She is growing fast so I won't get the money back out of it when I sell it next year.

Hey guys If all of us keep calling CT racing about the clutch maybee thell get there butts in gear and help this little things holeshot out. my son takes last out of the hole every race we only run a 4 lap moto in arenacross and it takes him every one of them to run them down. if he could get the holeshot he would be gone. But i did drop a tooth on the rear for more top speed. couldnt tell if it lost any bottom end cause it really never had one. but it runs great a wide open Did you guys know that wiseco startedmaking oversized pistons for this thing thats something to think about.

over sized pistons eh? hmmm now thats interesting. Do they also produce a larger cylinder to go with it? What is contact info?

How much top end would you guess you gained by dropping the tooth on the rear?
