continuous LT 80 starter engagement ?

anytime the battery is hooked up with the relay installed, the starter just continues to turn the engine over. I disconnected the starter switch, and ingnition switch, still turns over, I had to pull the starter relay out to get it to stop. I'm lost.....................................?

I had this happen to ours when we had it. Our problem happened after I tried to jump start it. It welded the contacts together in the relay. Thus it thought the start button was pressed all the time. I ended up going to Autozone and finding a relay for about 2 bucks that was just like the stocker. Problem solved. (for me anyways)
Hope this helps!!

Ok, let me get this right. Only when you have your starter relay in, and the battery hooked up, is the only time it just cranks over? When you pull the relay it quits? These things don't have to major of wiring setups. The starter only gets power when the relays made, the relay only gets power when the start button is pushed, the start button only gets power when the key is on, the key gets power from the battery. I would have to geuss that it is still something you have already checked. Most likely, either the start button or the relay. All relays are maked on the outside for (I beleive) amprage. I had tried a different relay in ours that I new was good and it still done the same thing, that is until it burned it up! I would still try getting a new relay with the same size as the stocker. Shouldn't cost more than a couple of bucks, and try again.
It has to be somewhere in there.
