For anyone looking at the Phoenix for their child, get one! I think they are a great starter quad for a child too big for the 90cc and too small for a full size. My son is 11, this is his first quad and he loves it. I just thought I would share......

 

I met a guy at the desert with one it did seem ok, but the biggest problem was the almost 400 pound,s.

What does our youth (or even our small body size spouses) ride after the 90cc is too small for them???

Not too sure which is better (re: Dry weight, ease of controls, driver comfort, quality of product, parts availability, etc. etc.) but it sure is nice to see our industry finally filling the gap between the 100cc -> 250cc range.

take it from a person who works at a polaris dealership. The pheonix is a piece of garbage. electrical problems, transmission problems (jumping out of gear), clutch failure, brake problems, etc. etc. etc. These things arent made by polaris, they are made by a tawainese or korean company called AEON. Just when polaris was starting to gain a reputation for a good quality product, they go and ruin it by choosing to take the cheap road having these things produced overseas for them. But by that same token also remember that polaris doesnt make the 50's and 90's either, but they have nearly zero problems. If you really like polaris go from the 90 to the 250 trailblazer. The trailblazer is a proven machine and has been "blazing" trails for many years. just my .02

 

Well there minis have been made by them for a long time. Think the problems could just be a first year quad as most of them go threw that.

 

I was going to buy one for my wife. My Polaris dealer has been a friend since grade school (along time) his sales staff said no problems but he turned me away from it for this year. I have owned first year truck, motorcyles, snowmachines and have made a promise to myself not to be the first anymore. Give a product a year to cut its teeth and see what everybody experiences first. Father of a boy my son races against in the 90 class is a Polaris dealer also. He had one for his kids, when I asked about them he just gave me that "knowing smile" and I noticed he wasn't bringing it to the track anymore. Anyhow still looking for my wife a ride.

 

I bought one for my kids its runs great no probs its under powered but its just a play bike they luv it

 

Well all I got to say is my son loves his! Yes it doesn't have all the power in the world, it's a great beginer quad.
