Thanks for the clarification/confirmation that the motor is a Honda clone. I think I will get him that 88 cc ATC 70 mod kit I noted from the other thread. I also just found out that a friend of mine (who had got his son the Yamoto 110) found a pipe for it, re-jetted it, etc. and said just that alone made a world of a difference. Hopefully between the 88 cc kit and a new pipe, jetting, etc., I can get my son's Yamoto 70 a lot more low end.

 

Does anyone have a copy of the "Patriot Motorcycles settles with Yamaha" article? I tried the Yahoo Finance link but the document has now expired.

Also, what are they selling now? they just label them "Patriot"

I am looking to perhaps buy a 4-stroke 110 with reverse (or a 90 if I can get it with reverse, which Polaris now has but which also has apparently some reliability problems already on the 2007 model), and Patriot has one. Kazuma also has one, which I can get here in Canada from kmsmotorsports.com as a "Lacoste 110", but I'm not sure how reliable it is.

Any help would be much appreciated.
