There is a guy on e-bay selling circuit boards to add new motors in the Power Wheels. I'll try and find a link for you. You can use the Radio Controlled Brushless motors for some real horsepower. Or Dewalt motors for drills. Do a search on Google, there are alot of people doing that these days.

Yeah, a link would be great! How hard are these mods? This is something I may be interested in. We have two of the Powerwheels "Kawasaki Ninja" quads.

I noticed that the last time I was in the "Pep Boys ATV and a few auto parts store" that they have added a line of electric ATV's. These are much less 'toys' than your typical power wheels - 36V motors, real tires and even suspension (although it's too stiff to do any good). Even though they look like a typical cheap Chineese quad, they are definately a step up from powerwheels. Didn't check pricing, but they could be a decent yard bike to work as a starter bike for a kid.

We always put 12V car batteries in the powerwheels jeeps when kids were younger. They would haula$$ and wear the hard plastic wheels/tires off in one summer. I dont think you have to have the different motors just bett amperage just dont try to use the hi/lo switch they burnout. Bypass that switch and they'll fly.
