Lights for TRX90?
#1
Hey guys! While riding late in the evening at our usual riding place....I noticed that it sure would have been nice if my son's 06 TRX90 had lights. Is there a light kit that would work on the 90? Will the electrical system handle an after-market light set-up?
We won't be doing any extensive after dark riding but if and when we do....lights on the little 90 would be nice.
Other than that, it's been one sweet machine so far.
Thanks for the help!

If you plan to install your own "low voltage" lights from individual parts, surf the many pictures within:

For our Pred-90, I'd quickly install 2 x MR11-xx clear lense auto fog lights. If their factory 20W bulbs drain the battery, downgrade one bulb to 10W. If it still drains the battery, down grade both lights to 10W. For quick wiring, install a 12V toggle switch, inline fuse and run the wire directly to the battery. Clean, simple and easy.
For us, we run 1 x 20W + 1 x 10W during the early sunset dark winter months and during the summer (for DRLs in our dark bush trail riding), we run 2 x 10W bulbs. In the winter, we only ride in our back yard. In this environment, gotta have better lighting to see our dog - who seems to always get in the way. LOL!!!!!
If you want "store bought", then contact Ricky Stator. Surf: - Press Here - He has light kits for the TRX-90 brand. In addition to these light kits, he also sells a high wattage stator. Depending on the price, you could purchase the high output stator from him, and install your own individual parts. What ever works best for you.
If you know a few great electricians, then perhaps they could re-wind your stator to make it high output unit? Another option you might want to explore.

From a safety increase perspective, I still don't understand why the CPSC and Factories don't want to make working tail lights and head lights mandatory. Especially for the folks who have daytime dark bush trails. The new '06 Pred-90 now has them. Low light output to reduce people from driving at night (which I do understand) but lack of daytime running lights on all 90cc minis??? I guess the ALL will suffer because of the few who might abuse it (re: let their young rider drive their mini way past sunset).
Hope this helps....
